Role Overview:

 

The Head of Learning and Development plays a critical role in driving organizational success by developing and implementing comprehensive learning strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives. This individual oversees all aspects of training and development initiatives, ensuring that employees acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in their roles and contribute to the company's growth.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

·        Learning Strategy Development: Develop and implement a strategic learning and development plan that aligns with the organization's goals, values, and objectives.

·        Training Needs Analysis: Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify skill gaps and training needs across the organization, working closely with department heads and key stakeholders.

·        Program Design and Delivery: Design, deliver, and evaluate a variety of learning programs, including instructor-led training, e-learning courses, workshops, seminars, and on-the-job training, to address identified needs and enhance employee capabilities.

·        Content Development: Oversee the creation and maintenance of training materials, resources, and curriculum, ensuring content is engaging, relevant, and up-to-date.

·        Budget Management: Manage the learning and development budget effectively, allocating resources to maximize the impact of training initiatives while controlling costs.

·        Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of learning and development professionals, providing guidance, support, and coaching to ensure high performance and professional growth.

·        Vendor Management: Collaborate with external training providers, consultants, and vendors to leverage expertise and resources as needed to supplement internal learning initiatives.

·        Learning Technology Integration: Explore and implement innovative learning technologies and platforms to enhance the delivery and accessibility of training programs, such as learning management systems (LMS) and virtual reality (VR) simulations.

·        Performance Evaluation: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness and impact of learning initiatives, conducting regular evaluations and making data-driven adjustments as necessary.

·        Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including executives, department heads, and employees, to understand their learning needs, gain support for learning initiatives, and foster a culture of continuous learning and development.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

 

·        Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred)

·        Minimum of 6 years of proven experience in learning and development, talent management, or related roles, with a track record of designing and implementing successful learning programs

·        Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and training delivery techniques

·        Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team

·        Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization

·        Strategic thinking and analytical abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement

·        Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS), e-learning authoring tools, and other learning technologies

·        Certifications such as Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) qualifications are a plus
