Position Summary   

The Security Engineer, or Security Administrator, will handle all digital security for all RLX locations. Duties include building digital security protocols, operating a cyber security system and maintaining an IT security infrastructure for the organization. Expertise in Zscaler, network security, data protection, and cloud-based security will be essential in protecting RLX's assets and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our information. Special projects during new location startups will also be a focus of assignment for this role.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:  

  • Develop, execute and track the performance of security measures to protect information and network infrastructure and computer systems. 

  • Design computer security strategy and engineer comprehensive cybersecurity architecture. 

  • Identify, define and document system security requirements and recommend solutions to management. 

  • Configure, troubleshoot and maintain security infrastructure software and hardware. 

  • Install software that monitors systems and networks for security breaches and intrusions.  

  • Monitor systems for irregular behavior and set up preventive measures.  

  • Plan, develop, implement and update company’s information security strategy. 

  • Educate and train staff on information system security best practices. 

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, Cyber Security, or comparable work-related experience  

  • Knowledge of applicable legislation, standards, policies, and procedures within specialty area  

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community  

  • Strong presentation skills to engage with employees, clients, and other stakeholders  

  • Skill in examining operational procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures  

  • 3+ years of experience working with the following systems/applications: 

  • Zscaler 

  • Arctic Wolf 

  • Azure Defender 

  • 365 Defender 

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing  

  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment  

 

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

The non-essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:   

  • Speaking with Managers and Employees on findings and training when necessary   

 

Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)  

  • Five or more years’ work experience as a System Security Engineer or related position 

  • Proven experience developing, operating and maintaining security systems 

  • Extensive knowledge of operating systems and database security 

  • Proficiency in networking technologies, network security and network monitoring solutions 

  • Knowledge of security systems including anti-virus applications, content filtering, firewalls, authentication systems and intrusion detection and notification systems 

  • In-depth knowledge of security protocols and principles 

  • Critical thinking skills and ability to solve complex problems
