Position Summary  

The Territory Manager manages multiple logistical operations associated with delivery of customer merchandise and ensures all deliveries are completed within an established time frame. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Manage logistical operations associated with delivery of customer merchandise 

  • Use route planning software to create efficient delivery routes 

  • Provide information for contract carriers performing delivery services 

  • Resolve customer, vendor and residential consumer issues throughout the day 

  • Identify problem areas to improve operational efficiencies 

  • Ensure that all deliveries are completed within established time frame 

  • Confirm contract carriers complying with contract and industry expectations 

  • Allocate and request additional resources as needed 

  • Exercise independent judgement with respect to operational needs 

  • Develop and mentor staff to reach goals; train staff on company policies and procedures 

  • Carry out managerial responsibilities, including interviewing, hiring, disciplining and resolving issues 

  • Ensure compliance with corporate warehouse policies, procedures and programs 

  • Overseeing the supervision of up to 5 direct reports within the region 

  • Supervise employees in accordance with company policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and addressing complaints/resolving problems 

  • Collaborate with fellow peers on daily functions including work allocation, training, and problem resolution. 

  • Performing other duties as assigned 

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required 

  • Regional travel requirement 

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills 

  • Must have very strong time management skills 

  • Be able to prioritize multiple tasks at the same time effectively.
